தமிழின் பெருமை என்ன என்று எனக்குள் ஒரு கேள்வி?
"கல்தோன்றி மண் தோன்ற காலத்தே தோன்றியதா?" உலகப்பொதுமறை திருக்குறளா ? கணக்கில் அடங்காத இலக்கிய நூல்களா ? என்னவாக இருக்கும். இதோ என் அறிவுக்கு எட்டிய வரையில் ஒரு ஆய்வுக்கட்டுரை.என்னை பொறுத்தவரை தமிழின் பெருமை தமிழ் மொழியின் வார்த்தைகள் ,அதன் ஆழம்,அதை இலக்கியத்தில் கையாண்ட முறை.
உதராணமாக இலை என்ற வார்த்தையை குறிப்பிட கொளுந்து,குருத்து,இலை, தளிர் ,துளிர்,சருகு என்று எட்டு வார்த்தைகள் உள்ளன.சூழ்நிலையும், காலத்திற்கேற்ப இந்த வார்த்தைகளை பயன்படுத்தலாம்.இதுவே ஆங்கிலத்தில் குறிப்பிட (Green Leaves,Yellow Leaves,Red Leaves) என்று ஒற்று சொற்களைத்தான் பயன்படுத்கிறார்கள்.அதற்கென்று தனியாக வார்த்தை இல்லை.எல்லோருக்கும் தெரிந்த உதாரணம் என்றால் அண்ணன் ,தம்பி என்ற வார்த்தைகளுக்கு ஆங்கிலத்தில் ஒரே வார்த்தைதான் ஒற்று சொற்களுடன் (younger brother,elder brother) பயன்படுத்துகிறோம்.
இவ்வாறு கடவுளை குறிப்பிட தமிழில் நூற்றுக்கு மேற்பட்ட வார்த்தைகள் இலக்கியத்தில் பயன்படுத்த பட்டிருக்கின்றன.இதென்னா ஆச்சரியம் சங்க இலக்கியத்தில் மட்டும்தான் இருக்கிறதா? இன்றும் நடைமுறையில் ஒவ்வொரு கடவுளுக்கும் நூற்றுக்கு மேற்பட்ட பெயர்கள் உள்ளனவே என்று நீங்கள் கேட்கலாம். அதெல்லாம் கேசட்டையும்,புத்தகத்தை நிரப்புவதற்கு வியாபாரிகள் பக்தி என்ற பெயரால் நடத்தும் நாடகங்கள். ஆங்கிலத்தில் உள்ள ஒற்று சொற்களை போன்றது.உதாரணமாக ஐய்யப்பனை குறிப்பிட்ட முருகன் தம்பி, பார்வதியின் மகன்,கணபதியின் தம்பி,சிவனின் மைந்தன் என்று உறவுகளை வைத்தே 50 பெயர்களை நிரப்பிவிடுகிறார்கள்.
இங்கே நான் குறிப்பிடுவது அது போன்ற வார்த்தைகள் அல்ல.உதராணமாக கடவுள் என்ற வார்த்தை எடுத்துக் கொள்வோம்.நான் குறிப்பிடும் இந்த நூறு வார்த்தைகளும் கடவுளை குறிப்பிடும் ஆனால் அந்த ஒவ்வொரு வார்த்தைக்கும் ஒரு தனித்தன்மை இருக்கும்.அந்த ஒவ்வொரு வார்த்தையும் நூறு அர்த்தங்களை கொடுக்கும்.
இதோ அந்த வார்த்தைகள்
மீண்டும் இன்னொரு பதிவில் இது போன்ற வேறொரு வார்த்தையுடன் சந்திப்போம்.
